RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Date & Venue: 15th to 17 May 2025, Indoor Sports Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
2. Eligibility Criteria: All participating athletes must fulfill the following conditions:
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen with valid government-issued identification.
- Passport Requirement: Must possess a valid Indian passport with a minimum validity of 12 months from the date of selection.
- Age & Weight Categories:
Seniors (Age: 17–35 years, Born 2008–1990)
- Men: -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg, -120kg, +120kg
- Women: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg, -87kg, +87kg
- Match Duration: Men – 4 minutes, Women – 3 minutes
Juniors (Age: 16–17 years, Born 2008–2009)

- Boys: -42kg, -46kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, -65kg, -71kg, -77kg, -83kg -90kg, +90kg
- Girls: -36kg, -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, +70kg
- Match Duration: Men – 4 minutes, Women – 3 minutes
Cadets (Age: 14–15 years, Born 2010–2011)

- Boys: -38kg, -42kg, -46kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, -65kg, -71kg, -77kg -83kg, +83kg
- Girls: -33kg, -36kg, -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, +63kg
- Match Duration: Men – 3 minutes, Women – 2 minutes
- Prior Participation:
- A player will be eligible to participate in the selection trials only if they have participated at least once in a national or international Kurash event in the past.
- Health & Fitness: Must be medically fit. A valid medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner is mandatory.
3. Documentation & Equipment

- Mandatory Documents:
- Original passport (for age verification)
- Two recent passport-size photos.
- Certificate of past participation in a Kurash National or International event.

- Kurash Uniform: Participants must bring Green and Blue Kurash Yakhtak, as per international standards.
- NOC: Submission of the Parent's Consent Form in the prescribed format of the Indian Kurash Association is mandatory at the time of reporting.
4. Selection Trials Format
- General Format:
- Knock-Out format will be used in weight categories with six (6) or more participants.
- Round Robin format will be used in categories with less than six (6) participants. (As per Point 8 of Point No. 32 (Order of Holding the Competitions) of the International Kurash Association Rules, if there are five or less players in the draw, a round-robin system will take place, (where every one fights one another)
- Officiating: Conducted by certified referees and technical officials appointed by the Association.
- Rules: Matches will be governed strictly as per the International Kurash Association rules.
5. Videography
- Videography of all matches is mandatory.
- The Indian Kurash Association will record all matches for official review, transparency, and documentation purposes.
6. Decision Review & Protests
- If a referee’s decision is found incorrect during a match, it is the duty of the Jury Members to correct the decision immediately.
- If a coach disagrees with the decision, they must submit a formal protest within 15 seconds, along with a protest fee of ₹500.
- If the protest is found to be valid after review, the protest fee will be refunded.
7. Final Selection
- If the Sports Authority of India (SAI) provides financial assistance for organizing a training camp:
- A training camp will be organized for the first-place and second-place winners of the open selection trials, prior to the final date for submitting online entries for the Asian Championship.
- The duration of the camp will be determined based on the online entry deadline.
- On the final day of the camp, the final selection of players for the Indian team will be conducted.
- In each weight and age category, the first-place winner will be selected to represent India at the Asian Championship, and the second-place winner will be selected as the reserve player for the respective category.
- If the Sports Authority of India (SAI) does not provide financial assistance for organizing a training camp:
- In this case, during the open selection trials:
- The first-place winner in each weight and age category will be selected to represent India at the Asian Championship.
- The second-place winner will be selected as the reserve player for the respective category.
8. International Participation Costs
- The selected player shall bear all expenses incurred for participation in the Asian Senior, Junior & Cadet Kurash Championship 2025 in Cheong Ju, Republic of Korea.
9. Additional Terms
- The Indian Kurash Association reserves the right to amend or cancel the trials due to unforeseen circumstances.
- All selected players (including reserves) must attend the national training camps organized prior to the Championship.
- Submission of false documents, misrepresentation, or breach of discipline will result in immediate disqualification.
- The Indian Kurash Association & Selection Committee shall not be held responsible for any injuries, accidents, or medical emergencies during the trials. All participants will compete at their own risk. In the case of minors, parents/guardians are fully responsible for the participation of their wards.
- If any other situation arises that is not covered by this policy, it will be resolved by the majority decision of the selection committee.
10. Fee
- Trials Fee ₹2000 per participant for each category, payable at the time of reporting.
11. Accommodation & Meals
a) All participants are responsible for their own lodging and food arrangements.
b) The organizing committee can assist by providing contact details of nearby
accommodations.
